Dance Styles and age groupings

Stage Fever offers performance opportunities in many styles and age groups. For 2010, these are:

Troupes: Ages 6/u, 8/u, 10/u, 12/u, 14/u, Open - acrobatics, contemporary, classical, jazz/hip hop, modern expressive/lyrical, musical theatre, song & dance, tap and variety

Solos - Open Sections: Ages 6/u, 8/u, 10/u, 12/u, 14/u, 15/o - contemporary, classical, fast tap, jazz/hip hop, modern expressive/lyrical, slow tap, song & dance, demi character

Solos - Restricted Sections: Ages 6/u, 8/u, 10/u, 12/u, 14/u, 15/o - contemporary, classical, fast tap, jazz/hip hop, modern expressive/lyrical, slow tap, song & dance, demi character

Solos - General Sections: Ages 6/u, 8/u, 10/u, 12/u, 14/u, 15/o - acrobatics (12/u), acrobatics (13/o), babies dance (5/u), jazz improvisation, modern/contemporary improvisation, song only (12/u), song only (13/o), student choreography, tap improvisation, variety

Duo /Trio: Ages 6/u, 8/u, 10/u, 12/u, 13/o - jazz (any style), modern/contemporary, tap

Jazz Scholarship: Ages 12/u and 13/o - see syllabus for full entry requirements. Scholarship winners will receive a cheque made out to their dance school to further their training.

The Venue and facilities

Menai High School Auditorium, 40 Gerald Rd, Illawong NSW 2234

Stage Fever has a large dedicated change room available at all times during the event.

Stage Fever runs a canteen during the entire event, and on Troupe Days, a bbq with sausages is also available.

There is plenty of parking available.

Photography

Please note that no photography (including still or video) is allowed inside the auditorium or dressing room at any time during the event. A professional video recordist will be available during the performance event at a fee.

News for 2010

The Stage Fever Performance Event organising committee is very pleased to announce that after much searching, we have secured a new and exciting venue for 2010 - Menai High School. We are very proud of our event and would like to thank everyone who sent encouragement as we searched for the venue.

Cash prizes for troupes and 14/o soloists will stay in place from last year. With the exciting addition of Junior Jazz and Senior Jazz cash prize scholarships worth $500 each which will be paid in support of each winners further dance training.

This year Stage Fever will also have a tarkett floor which should excite all of the dance teachers out there!.

It is so nice to receive such great feedback from last year's entrants: Hi, We attended your eisteddfod last week for troupes and solos and I just wanted to say thank you for a well run, friendly and encouraging eisteddfod everyone involved were all happy and friendly, the eisteddfod was very punctual and I loved that all my daughter's dances were all on the one day and they were quite close together so we didn't have to sit around and wait! We were very impressed and look forward to entering again next year.
